Four States Undertaken Ease of Doing Business Reforms

Assam, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, and Punjab have undertaken Ease of Doing Business reforms that were set down by the Ministry of Finance. Permission has been granted to these states to raise additional Rs 5,034 crore through Open Market Borrowings. Moreover, other states that have completed the ease of doing business reforms are Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Telangana and Kerala.

In a Historic Move, Women Team Inducted in CoBRA Commando Unit of CRPF

CRPF has inducted first women team in its CoBRA commando unit. CoBRA (Commando Battalion for Resolute Action) is specialized jungle warfare commando force. The women team will also be deployed in anti-naxal operations grid of the nation. To mark the historic move, a ceremonial event was held in Gurugram’s Kadarpur village where the selected women personnel performed combat drills. The personnel, earmarked for CoBRA, have been chosen from the existing six all-women battalions of the force.

Congress veteran leader Ghulam Nabi Azad’s term of Rajya Sabha comes to an end on 15th February and parliament gave him an emotional farewell. Former CM of Jammu and Kashmir, Mr Azad got teary-eyed while speaking his farewell speech. PM Modi also choked while sharing an incident about Mr Azad and called him a true friend. Congress leader also praised the prime minister and told about his personal bonds with him.

He also won Academy Award for Best Live Action Short Film (1963) ‘Heureux Anniversaire’. He also won an Oscar in 1972 for “The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie” with Bunuel. Moreover, he received Academy Honorary Award (2014) for lifetime achievement.

Separate Attacks Killed 9 People in Afghanistan

On Tuesday a string of attacks killed five government employees and four policemen in Afghanistan. In the capital city of Kabul, gunmen opened fire in the Bagh-e Daud neighborhood. The attack killed four employees of the ministry for rural development. Later, the presidential palace in a statement said the target was Reyaz Ahmad Khalil. However, no one immediately claimed responsibility for the attacks.
