India is likely to Become World’s Third Largest Importer by 2050

According to a report of the UK’s Department of International Trade, India might become the world’s third-largest importer by 2050. With a 5.9 percent share of global imports, India could secure the position of third-largest importer after China and United States. Currently, with a 2.8 percent share, India is on the eighth ranking in the list of the largest importing countries.

Piyush Goyal Introduces National Single Window System for investors

The Indian Union Minister for Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal has introduced a National Single Window System for investors. He informed that the existing portal up to date has hosted approvals across 18 central departments and 9 states. Furthermore, another 14 central and 5 states departments will be added by the end of December 2021.

This new window is a big step towards doing business easily and making India truly Aatmanirbhar. Piyush Goyal said that this single window portal will become a one-stop-shop for investors for approvals, clearances and would bring transparency, accountability and responsiveness to the ecosystem.

Tamil Nadu and Puducherry Beaches get ‘Blue Flag’ Certification

Tamil Nadu and Puducherry Beaches get ‘Blue Flag’ Certification

Two more beaches of India, Kovalam in Tamil Nadu and Eden in Puducherry have been awarded “Blue Flag” certification from Foundation for Environment Education in Denmark in 2021.  It is an international eco-level tag and India has received this tag for 10 beaches. Blue Flag certification started in 1987 and in 2001 it has been recognized as an International level of certification. It is globally recognized as an eco-label tag and on the basis of 33 criteria in four major heads, it will reward the beaches.

The International Day of Sign Languages (IDSL) is marked on 23 September every year across the world. This day is celebrated to raise awareness about sign languages. The day strengthens the importance and purpose of sign languages among other languages. The theme for IDSL 2021 is chosen as ‘We Sign For Human Rights’.  The theme conveys a message that how each of us (including deaf and hearing people) around the world can work together to promote the recognition of our right to use sign languages.
