ADB Agrees for $150 Million Loan for Urban Housing Project in Tamil Nadu

Asian Development Bank (ADB) on September 3 has approved a $150 million loan for a continuous housing project for the urban poor in Tamil Nadu. ADB stated that the objective of the loan is to provide inclusive and sustainable housing for the urban poor people of Tamil Nadu. The agency highlighted that Tamil Nadu is currently contributing 8.54 percent to the GDP. Consequently, the economic opportunities have increased in the rural-urban migration rate in Tamil Nadu. Tamil Nadu already has one of the highest urbanization rates in India.

India’s Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has Conducted 24th Meeting of FSDC

The Union Minister for Finance & Corporate of India Mrs. Nirmala Sitharaman has conducted the 24th meeting of the Financial Stability and Development Council. Moreover, Finance Minister is the chairperson of FSDC and the Sub-Committee of FSDC is chaired by the Governor of RBI. The state of the financial sector has been discussed in the meeting and a strategy to support the nascent recovery of the pandemic-hit economy has been suggested.

Karnataka Government has Decided to Ban Online Games

The state government of Karnataka has decided to ban online games or betting. The ban will apply to online games that include transactions from electronic devices like computers or mobile phones. The state government has taken this initiative after several complaints received by the state government regarding cyber fraud.

Arunachal Government Introduced Two Credit-Linked Schemes

The two credit-linked schemes have been introduced by the Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, Pema Khandu. The scheme will be implemented with a government subsidy. It is two credit-linked schemes that will boost the agriculture and horticulture sectors of the state. The Chief Minister will also ensure the doubling of farmers’ income in the state. During the launch, the Chief Minister said that the State-level and district-level committees have been constituted for the selection of beneficiaries of the schemes.

The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) stated that its Chandrayaan-2 spacecraft has completed 9,000 orbits around the moon. Furthermore, the ISRO officials have informed that the Chandrayaan-2 spacecraft has also detected minor elements of manganese and chromium. The craft has detected these elements through remote sensing. The presence of these elements on the lunar surface was confirmed through soil samples that were collected during the earlier missions.
