Infosys LauncheD Springboard A digital Skilling Programme

On Thursday, Infosys announced the launch of Springboard. It is a digital skilling programme that everyone including students from standard VI to professionals can join. It aimed to re-skilling more than 10 million people by 2025. This digital programme is a part of Infosys which is powered by the company’s education technology platform Wingspan. Furthermore, it offers a set of courses developed in collaboration with Coursera and Learnship. At present, springboard has 400,000 learners, and more than 300 educational institutions, NGOs and self-help groups use the platform.

The Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) has increased the maximum age for joining the National Pension System (NPS). The existing age for entry was 18-65 years but it has been increased from 18-70 years. Any Indian citizen between the ages of 65-70 years is eligible to join NPS.

The Centre Bureau of Investigation has searched 19 locations that are in connection with alleged manipulation of the 2021 JEE (Mains) examination. The case was registered on Wednesday and the agency waited for the exam to get over on Thursday and then launched its investigation. With this, the CBI teams swooped down at 19 locations in Delhi, NCR regions, Pune, Jamshedpur, Indore and Bangalore.

DRDO Launches Naval Anti-Drone System (NAD)

Defence Research and Development Organisation has recently developed India’s first indigenous Anti-Drone System (NAD). This system will be inducted by the Indian Navy as a contract was signed between the IN (Indian Navy) and Navaratna Defence PSU Bharat Limited. The contract was signed for the supply of the 1st indigenous comprehensive Naval Anti Drone System with both hard skill and soft skill capabilities.

Elon Musk’s Company, SpaceX sends ants, avocados and a human-sized robotic arm rocket toward the International Space Station. NASA’s Kennedy Space Center hoisted the Dragon capsule. After the launch, the Dragon capsule landed upright on SpaceX’s newest ocean platform named “A Shortfall of Gravitas.” The Dragon is carrying more than 4,800 pounds (2,170 kilograms) of supplies, fresh food like avocados, lemons and ice cream for the astronauts of the space station.

Yogesh Kathuniya and Mariyappan Thangavelu win Silver for India

In the ongoing Paralympics 2020, India has received several medals and recently added two more medals to its list. Yogesh Kathuniya and Mariyappan Thangavelu bag silver medals in the discus throw and men’s high jump (T63) respectively. Yogesh claimed the second spot in the men’s Discus Throw F56 final event with a throw of 44.38m. On the other hand, Thangavelu cleared the 1.86m mark to take silver home. And in this same event, Sharad Kumar won the bronze medal by clearing the 1.83m mark.
