Bengaluru Airport Achieves ACI World’s ‘Voice of the Customer’ Recognition

PhonePe’s Partnership with Axis Bank
The digital payments platform, PhonePe has entered into partnership with Axis Bank. PhonePe has entered on a Unified Payments Interface (UPI) multi-bank model which will facilitate the to build and use multiple UPI IDs to PhonePe users. It will also use the “@axl” handle of Axis Bank. Previously, only one UPI ID per bank could be created and used by users.

15 People Feared Dead in Explosion at Firecracker Factory in Tamil Nadu
An explosion took place in firecracker factory at Virudhunagar district of Tamil Nadu on 12th February 2021. About 15 people are feared dead in the blast. 10 fire-fighting units were deployed at the spot to put off the fire. Prime Minister expressed his grief over the incident and also declared a compensation of Rs 2 lakh each to the families of those who lost their lives and compensation of Rs 50000 to the seriously injured. Chief Minister of the state also announced a compensation of Rs 3 lakh each to the families who died and Rs 1 lakh each to severely injured in the tragic incident. An officer from the fire department told that friction during mixing of chemicals might be the cause of the fire.
National Women’s Day 2021 in India: Country Remembers Sarojini Naidu
India will celebrate national women’s day on 13 February. This day is observed to mark the birth anniversary of Sarojini Naidu, commonly referred to as ‘nightingale of India’. On National Women’s Day, the country celebrates the social, cultural, economic and political achievements of women. Moreover, Sarojini Naidu was the first woman governor of the country. She was also a prolific poet and participated in the freedom struggle. Her 142nd birth anniversary will be celebrated on 13 February, 2021.

Trump Can’t Run for Presidency Again Says Haley
Donald Trump’s former ambassador and longtime loyalist Nikki Haley said that Trump cannot run for the presidency again. She is deeply disturbed after the reaction of trump on his defeat to Joe Biden. She also said that Republicans were wrong to support his campaign to reverse the 2020 election results. However, the former South Carolina governor dismissed the speculation and told Trump could return to seek the presidency in 2024.
For 1st Time Highly Contagious UK Variant of COVID-19 Found in Sri Lanka
Sri Lanka has reported the highly contagious new UK variant of the coronavirus. Health authorities on Friday said that this new variant of B.1.1.7 lineage is highly dangerous. Officials also said that it is the third variant of coronavirus to be detected in the country. From four different locations, the department of the health ministry has taken the samples that tested positive for the new UK variant. According to the health authorities, the country is recording over 800 COVID-19 cases on a daily basis. Although, Sri Lanka has received free vaccines from India and the health ministry launched a vaccination program for the frontline health workers and the military in late January.
‘I Am a Child!’ Police Pepper Spray Shows Kids Not Exempted
The police in New York handcuffed a 9-year-old Black girl. She was distraught and crying for her father as the white officers grew increasingly impatient and wrangle her fully into the vehicle. The officer warned the girl and in less than 90 seconds he sprayed pepper spray in her eyes. The little girl was screaming and pleading to wipe her eyes. It started with a report of “family trouble” in Rochester, New York, and ended with police treating a fourth-grader like a crime suspect. Moreover, this sparked outrage as the latest example of law enforcement mistreatment of Black people, even young children are not exempt.
Earthquake of Magnitude 6.3 Hits Tajikistan, Tremors Felt in North India
On Friday an earthquake of magnitude 6.3 on the Richter scale struck Tajikistan at around 10:30 p.m. IST. India’s National Centre for Seismology (NCS) confirmed this news. People mainly in India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan also felt Tremors. In India, people in parts of Delhi, NCR, Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir felt the earthquake tremors . People got scared and came outside from their houses. For a brief period, the NCS located the epicenter of the earthquake in Amritsar, Punjab. But later they changed the details. The earthquake was located at a depth of 74 km. However, no casualties have been reported so far.
