Summary of the book ‘A Walk to Remember’:
The story starts with a prologue from Landon Carter at age 57. Every April, when the wind blows in from the sea and mingles with the scent of lilacs, Landon Carter remembers his last year at Beaufort high school. It was 1958 and Landon was 17 years old. He was very popular in school and had already dated a girl or two. He never thought that he would fall in love with Jamie Sullivan. She was the town’s Baptist daughter and a simple girl. She always carried a Bible with herself wherever she goes. She took care of her widowed father, rescued hurt animals, and helped out at the local orphanage. Then with a twist of fate Landon became a dance partner of Jamie for the homecoming night. From then on, Landon Carter’s life would never be the same. Jamie with her innocence showed him the depths of the human heart. This leads him to make a decision so stunning that he never thought.
