Now, According to the new rule, employers are required to link their employees’ Adhaar cards with their Provident Fund Accounts. From September 1 onwards, employers can credit their contribution of PF only if the employee’s Aadhaar number is linked to their Universal Account Number (UAN). Under the amended Section 142 of the Code of Social Security, the linking of Aadhaar to PF accounts is compulsury.

Smriti Irani, the Union Minister for Women and Child Development has launched Poshan 2.0. Nutrition Month has started on September 1 and Smriti Irani firmly encouraged all state governments to make sure that each Anganwadi centres of all districts in India must have a Poshan Vatika (nutrition garden). She addressed the celebration of the Poshan Abhiyan missions and also clarify the details of this mission to several state governments.

The Union Minister of India, Ayush Sarbananda Sonowal along with six other Union ministers has launched the Yoga-Break mobile application at Vigyan Bhawan as part of the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ celebrations. Ayush Sarbananda said that 5-minutes Yoga Break Protocol is a set of yoga exercises. This set helps in de-stress, refresh and refocus on work and will also increase the productivity of individuals.

Indian Railway will Operate 102 Vande Bharat Trains by March 2024

Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi on the occasion of the 75th Independence Day celebrations has announced the operation of 75 Vande Bharat trains. The tenders for manufacturing 58 rakes each comprising 16 coaches have been floated by the Ministry of Railways. However, tenders for making 44 rakes have already been issued. This operation of 75 Vande Bharat trains is considered one of the most successful products of the “Make in India” mission.

ISRO Successfully Completed First Hot Test of Gaganyaan Service Module Propulsion System

The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has successfully completed its first hot test of the System Demonstration Model (SDM) of the Gaganyaan Service Module Propulsion System. This test has been conducted at the test facility of the ISRO Propulsion Complex (IPRC) in Mahendragiri, Tamil Nadu.  According to scientists of ISRO, the test conducted for 450 seconds has completed its objectives and matched the pre-test predictions. This achievement was share by the ISRO through tweeter.

Javelin Thrower Sumit Antil Won Gold for India Paralympics 2020

Indian Javelin thrower, Sumit Antil has won the gold medal in the men’s javelin throw in the F64 final event at the Tokyo Paralympics 2020. He, in the process, set a new world record of throwing for 68.55m. The 23-year-old Sumit belongs from Sonepat in Haryana. Moreover, Michal Burian of Australia won the silver medal (66.29m) and Dulan Kodithuwakku of Sri Lanka has won the bronze medal. Furthermore, one of the greatest Paralympians of India, Devendra Jhajharia has won silver in the men’s javelin throw – F46 final event by giving his best throw of 64.35.

Stuart Binny an Indian all-rounder cricketer has announced his retirement from all forms of cricket. He had represented the Indian Cricket team in six Tests, 14 ODIs and three T20Is. Binny scored a total of 459 runs and 24 wickets. Binny is the son of Roger Binny who is a former India selector and was a part of the 1983 world cup winning squad.

On August 30, Russia warned of an increase in West Nile Virus (WNV) infections. West Nile Virus was initially found in Africa but now it has spread across different continents like Asia, Europe, and North America. This virus is mainly transmitted to humans through mosquito bites and can lead to fatal neurological diseases. The Consumer Health watchdog of Russia has reported that the Autumn season climate is favourable for the Virus and a high number of (virus) carriers could be observed in this season.

However, Elon Musk’s company replied by calling it the latest effort by Amazon to slow down the competition.
