More than 5.82 Crore of Jan Dhan Accounts are Out of Service
Over 5.82 crore Jan Dhan (PMJDY) accounts are out of service in India. The Finance Ministry has informed about this situation in Rajya Sabha and said that at least one out of 10 Jan Dhan accounts is inoperative. The guidelines issued by RBI said that savings and current accounts should be treated as inoperative or dormant if there will no transaction occurs in the account for over a period of two years. Moreover, the total number of Jan Dhan accounts that were opened is 42.83 crore with a balance of nearly ₹1.43 lakh crore.

127th Constitution Amendment Bill Passed in Lok Sabha
On August 10, the 127th Constitution Amendment Bill was passed in Lok Sabha unanimously. The bill was passed with more than two-thirds majority of the house strength and the members present in the house. This bill aims in restoring the power of the States and the Union Territories to make their own OBC list. During the session, the votes were divided and 385 members were in the favour of this amendment bill leaving no one against it.

Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games will be Live Broadcast on Eurosport India
Indian fans can watch all the live action of the country’s para-athletes during the upcoming Paralympics. West Africa Reports Confirmed First Case of Marburg Virus
Where the whole world is suffering from coronavirus, on the other hand, the World Health Organization (WHO) has confirmed the first-ever case of another viral infection in West Africa. This virus ‘Marburg disease’ is carried by bats and has a fatality rate of up to 88 percent. The infection of this virus was confirmed by testing a sample of the person who died due to Marburg disease on August 2.
