India-Bangladesh Held Commerce Secretary Level Meeting

In Dhaka on March 8, 2021, India and Bangladesh conducted a Commerce Secretary level meeting. Commerce Secretary, Dr. Anup Wadhawan led the Indian delegation. Consequently, Commerce Secretary Dr. Md. Jafar Uddin led the Bangladeshi delegation. Moreover, during the meeting, the two nations have decided to jointly celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Bangladesh Liberation War and 50 years of India-Bangladesh bilateral ties.

ISRO-NASA: Develops Radar for Joint Earth Observation Satellite Mission

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has collaborated with the US space agency, National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). Both agencies have completed the development of Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) which has the capability of producing extremely high-resolution images for joint earth observation satellite missions. Moreover, NISAR is the first satellite mission that will use two different radar frequencies called L-band and S-band.

Southampton Confirmed to Host India-New Zealand WTC Final

From June 18, India and New Zealand will the inaugural final of the ICC World Test Championship. It will take place at the Hampshire Bowl in Southampton, the International Cricket Council announced on Wednesday (March 10).

However, the decision was taken following the discussion among the ICC, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB,). In this, a range of options was considered to ensure that the Test can be staged safely with the potential impact of COVID-19 minimized for all involved. Moreover, Southampton became a front runner given its on-site accommodation facilities. The Hampshire Bowl and Old Trafford also played hosts to all the international matches in England last year.

Amrit Mahotsav will be Organised at 75 Locations for 75 Weeks

On March 10, 2021, the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi has urged all the Members of Parliament (MPs) and the public representatives to take part in ‘Amrit Mahotsav’. The Mahotsav will start on March 12, 2021, at the Sabarmati Ashram in Gujarat. Consequently, it will mark the 75 years of India’s Independence from British rule. This festival will also be organized at 75 locations for 75 weeks across the country.

Brazil is Facing Severe Second Wave of Covid-19

Brazil is hosting the new variant of covid-19 called P.1. This variant of the coronavirus is more contagious and deadlier. However, following the rising cases, the country is observing a major shortfall in vaccine supplies. Furthermore, policy uncertainty is one of the reasons for rising cases in the country. As a result of this, there is a complete lockdown in some areas. On the other hand, in Bauru, there is no lockdown or any policy on wearing masks and a vaccination program is going on in Serrana.

China-Russia Signed a Planetary Pact

The Russian space agency Roscosmos stated that it had signed a pact with the National Space Administration (CNSA) of China. The objective of this pact is to develop a complex experimental research facility. Moreover, this facility has been created on either surface or in the orbit of the Moon. Consequently, under the collaboration, Russia’s first modern lunar lander called “Luna 25” has been scheduled to launch on October 1, 2021. These two nations signed the pact to regain the glory of space pioneering.
