The Centre Board of Secondary Education:

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is a board of education at the national level in India for public and private schools. Union Government of India controls and manages the CBSE. All the schools affiliated with CBSE follow the NCERT curriculum. There are approximately 21,271 schools in India and 220 schools in 28 foreign countries affiliated with the CBSE.

History of CBSE in Education:

In 1929, the Government of India set up a joint board named “Board of High School and Intermediate Education, Rajputana”. Later, the government changed the name of this board and formed the Central Board of Secondary Education in 1952. The prime focus of this board is to make a common standard and platform for every student in the country.

Role of CBSE in Indian Education:

CBSE is the central body for school education in the country and a large number of students are registered with it among all the educational boards in India. It regulates and maintains the uniformity in education among all the schools across India. Its effectiveness is reflected in the number of schools affiliating with it every year. It conducts the exams mainly of classes 10th and 12th and also declares the results of the same. It decides the curriculum and covers basic general knowledge required for a child in terms of education. CBSE also grants qualifying certificates to the successful candidates of the affiliated schools. It fulfills the educational requirements related to transfers of the students.

Moreover, the board prescribes and updates the course of instructions for examinations. Board’s prime focus is to bring innovations in teaching and learning methodologies by introducing student-friendly paradigms. It also focuses on skills enhancement of students by adding job-oriented and job linked inputs. Affiliated schools follow updated pedagogical methods issued by the CBSE.

Clash of JEE Mains and CBSE Board Exams:

Image result for tensed students for Board Exams:

While releasing the date sheets, Union Education Minister assured the students that CBSE has scheduled the exams in such a way that it does not affect the dates of other exams. But, this did not happen in the released schedule as the dates of the fourth phase of JEE Mains 2021 examinations are clashing with the board exams. In December 2020, the education minister had released the dates of NTA JEE Mains 2021. The JEE Mains 2021 exam is going to be conducted 4 times this year.

The fourth session will be conducted from May 24th to May 28th. However, according to the released CBSE Board 2021 datesheet, the papers of biology and economics of class 12th are also to be held on the same dates. Even on 24th May, the Karnataka board has also scheduled the paper of physics for class 12th.  Now, in a situation like this, students are worried that how will they be able to appear together for both exams.

Conclusion:

The announcement of date sheets for both the classes made by CBSE has brought some relief to the students. The issued date sheet is fully prepared by the experts after analyzing the pros and cons of every possible situation. Students can prepare for exams with the help of solved sample papers and exam guides available in the market, apart from the reference books and NCERT textbooks. They can also avail online test series to enhance their preparation.

The CBSE also gives sufficient time to students to conquer their fears and stress, and to prepare themselves for their exams. But this overlapping of dates of JEE Mains and CBSE Board exams have created a new problem. Students are requesting to the education minister through Twitter to pay attention to the clash of dates. They all are appealing to conduct the fourth phase of JEE Mains 2021 after the board exam. So, it might be possible that the examination dates of the fourth phase of JEE Main 2021 may get changed. However, no such announcement has been made by the officials.
